Woman Overcomes Homelessness And Then Wins Lottery

A California woman who recently overcame homelessness landed on a lucky ticket that earned her a whopping 5 million.

“I only bought one ticket,” she told the California lottery. “I closed
my eyes and picked that one—and it won!”

She was at a Walmart Supercenter in Contra Costa County to get an oil change for her car, and said she was scratching the ticket and found she won the top prize!

At first, she thought she won a free ticket but upon further inspection saw that it was actually a prize worth 5 million.

“Six years ago, I was homeless. This year, I am getting married, getting
my associate degree and I won $5 million.” She plans to use the money to buy a house and is going to invest the rest.

“You never think you have a chance to win it. It is just random. Being homeless just six years ago, I never thought it would happen to someone like me.”
